FEES:
Hunting fees include equipped camps, guide services, transportation in the field, and field preparation of trophies. Trophies may be sent to your taxidermist by an expediter. You pay final trophy preparation, crating, and shipping costs. Fees do not include your hunting license, tags, transportation to the point of outfitting, hotel accommodations, liquor or gratuities. The round trip flight to the Alaskan Peninsula Bear Camps depends upon the location of the particular camp. The round trip flight to Rainy Pass Lodge is $500 per person.
Weather permitting you will be flown to the lodge the day before your hunt begins. You will leave the lodge the day after your hunt is scheduled to finish. Un-scheduled charters may result in an additional charter fee. Alaskan wild game meat is excellent and we suggest that you take at least a sample home. Commercial processing facilities are available in Anchorage for your convenience. Rainy Pass Lodge is one of the few remaining outfits that uses horses in most of it's hunting camps.
NON HUNTERS:
A limited number of non-hunting guests can be accommodated at Rainy Pass Lodge or in the Alaska Peninsula hunting camps. The fee is $3,500 on all hunts. Please let us know well in advance so accommodations can be arranged.
CONTRACT:
All hunts are conducted on a fair-chase basis in accordance with State of Alaska Hunting and Guiding Regulations. A State of Alaska Guide/Client Hunt Record will be signed before the hunt begins.
PERSONAL GEAR:
The ideal caliber rifle for Alaska is the 300 Winchester Magnum when hunting Moose, Dall Sheep, and Caribou. The .375 caliber is recommended while hunting bear. Forty cartridges are generally adequate. Be sure that the personal gear you bring is of the highest quality. Please weigh your gear and limit the total weight, including gun, to 75 pounds. For safety reasons a limit of 50 pounds is allowed to be taken to the Rainy Pass hunting camps by pack horse or super super cub airplane. Please bring a soft duffle bag for this purpose.
Additional baggage may require that you pay an additional charter fee. On Rainy Pass Lodge hunts you must check your hard gun case at the hotel in Anchorage. Bring binoculars, compact cleaning kit, pack frame to carry personal gear (mandatory for sheep hunts), hunting knife, small flashlight, mattress & sleeping bag comfortable to -20 degrees F, camera and film, ankle fitting hip boots, climbing boots (optional for sheep), warm hat, thermal underwear, four pair wool socks, two pair light wool socks, two pair wool pants, two wool shirts, warm gloves, down filled parka w/hood, quality rain gear, soft duffel bag for gear, gloves, water bottle & personal necessities.
DEPOSITS AND CANCELLATIONS:
A deposit of 50% will confirm your hunt. The balance is payable 60 days prior to arrival. If agreement has been made to receive final payment upon arrival, the balance must be paid by wire transfer, cash, traveler's cheques or certified check. Please, no personal checks. In the event of cancellation by the client more than 120 days prior to the start of our season, deposits are non refundable but will be transferred to another hunt with us, or the deposit may be transferred to another mutually acceptable hunter, secured by you. In the event of cancellation by the client less than 120 days prior to the start of our season, deposits shall be forfeited unless transferred to a mutually acceptable hunter secured by you, or unless other arrangements have been made and agreed upon. In the event that we must cancel a hunt, due to a failure on our part, the deposit shall be returned.
